8. Meet Some of DC Angels
Wanda Franklin
Wanda Franklin has been a member of the Guardian Angels for 16 years. She was raised in SE-Washington, D.C. and graduated from Ballou High School. She works full time for the U.S. Postal Service and have three adult children and three grandsons. She joined the Guardian Angels because she was tired of seeing drugs and crime in her community and knew she had to do something to make a difference.
Bk Lunde
B. K. Lunde has been a member of the Guardian Angels for 12 years. She was born in Illinois and has a daughter and granddaughter in Germany whom she visits frequently. She is a Training Specialist with the Commercial Space Transportation (Federal Aviation Administration). She has experience in teaching at all levels, from nursery school through graduate work. Her Ph D in Physics was earned from Iowa State University. She is the first female professional electrical engineer in Iowa.
Allison Pinkney
Allison Pinkney is from Waldorf, MD. She joined the Guardian Angels five years ago when she was 16. Since Joining she has traveled to New York City, Boston, Denver and Philadelphia to work with other Guardian Angels Chapters. She is a proud mother of a 1 year old boy. She currently works at Borders Book Store.
Bruce Alcan
Bruce Alcan joined the Guardian Angels 12 years ago. He is from NE-Washington, D.C. He is a DC School Teacher and on the weekends he is a Security Officer. He has traveled to Tokyo, Japan, Denver, CO and New York City to work with other Guardian Angels Chapters.
Jordan Estrada
Jordan Estrada is the Director of Street Patrol Operations. He is from Annandale, VA. He works as a full-time Security Guard and part time he volunteers as a Guardian Angel because he enjoys serving the community.
Jeffrey Cargill
Jeffrey Cargill is from Rockville, MD. He is a former gang member. He joined the Guardian Angels to give back to the community by talking to youth about staying away from gangs, drugs and violence. He is married with children and is self employed.
Delante Cowans
Delante Cowans is from NW-Washington, DC. He is 17 years old. He is a student at St. John’s College High School ‘10. He joined the Guardian Angels to protect and serve. He plans to become a police officer.
